A hairstylist who has worked with Victoria Beckham and Sienna Miller has praised a budget-friendly product for blondes that costs less than £10. The Jerome Russell Bblonde Hi Lift Color & Gloss features a no-bleach formula capable of lifting up to four levels, while toning, glossing and blending greys. It leaves a soft, anti-brass shine similar to salon results but on a budget.
Celebrity stylist's verdict
Jason Collier, an A-list hairstylist who has worked with Victoria Beckham and Sienna Miller, shared his thoughts on the product, saying: "The technology now exists to give you both beautiful, lasting blonde results and hair that feels healthier for it."
He added: "There's no reason to be causing unnecessary damage when there are gentler alternatives that perform just as well, if not better." Jason advises no-bleach formulas for people wanting to lighten their locks without causing the potential damage of a traditional bleach.
He continued: "Most people don't realise that bleach isn't the only way you can lighten hair, so often avoid it completely. No-bleach colour can lift multiple levels and tone at the same time, which is a gentler approach for your hair. Plus, the results speak for themselves."
Other blonde hair products
Elsewhere on the high street, there are plenty of other products designed to help keep blonde locks in tip top condition. At LookFantastic, the L'Oréal Professionnel Serie Expert Blondifier Masque 250ml costs £28.50 and has been formulated to resurface and illuminate blonde tresses, adding shine and radiance.
Meanwhile, over at Space NK the K18 Hair TripleBright Oxidation Defense Purple Shampoo 125ML costs £39 and remains a popular choice with shoppers who have hailed it 'fab' saying it 'brightens blonde between hair appointments.'
Shopper reviews
Back to the Jr Bblonde Hi Lift Color & Gloss No.1, and there are currently three reviews of the product on the Superdrug website. One user said: "Fantastic. Just wow wow wow."
They added: "I didn't want to bleach my already bleached hair that was a brassy yellow orange mix, I thought a high lift might give me the 1-2 lighter result I was after. I didn't even use the toner included or any other."
"Absolutely brilliant, I will buy this for the touch ups from now on. So glad I got it - hair doesn't feel any more damaged then it was before and this is an unmistakable blonde shade. Very happy."
It is worth noting that one user was mostly pleased but deducted a star partly for the amount of time they said they spent using the product, writing: "Generally, it worked really well. Didn't like the fact it took 50 mins to process."
They added: "I did get a reaction on my forehead after 35 mins. Once I washed it off etc it settled down pretty fast. My roots were a bit more pale yellow than I hoped for. I would use it again and maybe leave it on for 30 mins. Pretty good. I have dyed silver hair."
Meanwhile, another five star review from someone with short fine hair simply says that they were 'happy' with the product. Haircare fans can shop the Jr Bblonde Hi Lift Color & Gloss No.1 at Superdrug for £9.99.
