Holly Wood, a 39-year-old bargain hunter from Manchester, discovered a designer skirt worth £168 in a local charity shop and paid only £6. The FARM Rio skirt, a high-quality Brazilian brand, features an elasticated drop waist and a dark red pattern smock design. Holly shared her excitement on TikTok, where the post garnered more than 100,000 views.
Thrilled to Find Favourite Brand
Holly said: “I have finally done it – I’ve thrifted from a charity shop one of my favourite brands ever. I have been waiting for this moment. This item would have cost £160-£170 and I got it for just six quid.” She added that she “didn’t think it was possible” to locate the brand in a charity shop, especially when she only had five minutes to browse before an event. “This was sat there right in front of me, and I had to nab it,” she said.
Quality and Value
Holly instantly recognised the skirt by its design and thick, high-quality fabric. She said: “It is the most stunning, stunning brand. You know where your money is going with this – it’s designed so well.” Trying it on, she was delighted: “I love it. It is so comfortable, has loads of stretch, and is so structured. I can’t believe that.” She later clarified that she believes the market value of the skirt to be £168.
Full Haul Estimated at £300
In addition to the skirt, Holly also found a brand-new waistcoat top from a boutique brand with a label for £75, a new Nasty Gal dress, and an ASOS dress. She described the full haul as “10/10” and estimated she had bagged around £300 worth of clothes for £30 altogether.
