A new indoor market called Baltic Bazaar will open in Cains Brewery Village this Sunday, September 27. Located next door to the Red Brick Market under the same ownership, it offers a more modern space with a smaller footprint, predominantly made up of artists and makers, with food trucks also serving from the venue.
Opening delayed by building work
The launch was originally scheduled for Thursday, September 24, but building work delays pushed the date back. Once open, the market will run seven days a week, from 10am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and from 11am to 6pm on Sundays.
With the Red Brick Market permanently operating with a long waiting list, Baltic Bazaar will accommodate up to 120 additional independent traders in the Baltic Triangle. The space aims to support local artists and makers by providing stall options with lower running costs than its sister venue.
Owner's vision for the new space
Owner Chris Day, 41, from Childwall, said: "It's about a quarter of the size [of Red Brick Market]. The point of it is that rent is low so it gives people a chance to have a stab at it. It will have a different kind of look. It will be more modern and have more artists and makers."
Chris will also put a ban on AI-made art, a rule he hopes to bring to Red Brick Market too.
