Food experts have crowned the best beef burger for summer BBQs, and the winner is not from Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, or M&S. The UK is set for hot weather this summer after a record-breaking heatwave in May, with a 'super El Nino' expected to bring higher-than-usual temperatures across Europe. This means many Brits will be firing up their BBQs more than usual.

The consumer experts at Good Housekeeping have tested hundreds of products available in UK supermarkets and selected their top ten favourite burgers for the BBQ season. "Whether you fancy a classic, straight-up beef patty, an indulgent wagyu burger, or one infused with spicy jalapeno, we've got the best burgers for your BBQ," they said. "Simply slather with ketchup, pick your perfect bun (brioche for us, please) and add your favourite sides for the ultimate cookout this summer."

Taking the top spot is Exceptional by ASDA Buttered Miso Beef Steak Burgers 340g, priced at £4.46. The experts praised its originality, noting the meat is "basted with sauce during grilling to lock in moisture and flavour." They added: "The result is a delightfully juicy burger with a delicate, sweet and savoury umami note. Top marks for innovation." It scored an impressive 88/100, higher than all other burgers tested.

In second place is Tesco Finest Chuck & Brisket Beef Burger 340g at £5.50, scoring 83/100. Made with British chuck, brisket, and bone marrow, topped with Cornish sea salt and cracked black pepper.
