Asda has issued a recall for a popular household device sold in its UK stores due to a potential fire hazard. The supermarket is urging customers who have purchased the Goblin handheld vacuum to stop using it immediately and return it for a full refund.
The recall affects the Goblin GHV102W-20 White Mini Handheld Cordless Vacuum, with barcode 5057172148660 and site codes 15A.08.20.115, 15A.10.21.181, and 15A.09.22.168. Asda has confirmed that site code 15A.09.22.168A is not included in the recall.
According to Asda, the battery in some units may overheat if left on charge and unattended, posing a fire safety risk. The company stated: 'Asda has determined that in some units of the Goblin handheld Vacs, the battery may overheat and could pose a fire safety risk if left on charge and unattended. Stop using the unit and return it to your nearest Asda store for a full refund or exchange.'
