ARNE Opens First Manchester Store on New Cathedral Street

Luxury athleisure and outerwear brand ARNE has confirmed it will open its first permanent store in Manchester on New Cathedral Street later this month. The announcement follows a successful six-month pop-up shop at the Trafford Centre, which gave shoppers a preview of the brand's offerings.

ARNE Joins Premium Retailers

New Cathedral Street, part of the Manchester Arndale, already hosts designer names such as Alo Yoga, Arc'teryx, and streetwear brand Represent. Founded in 2018 by brothers Reece and Ryan Broadhurst, ARNE initially launched online, building a strong social media following for its menswear, womenswear, and footwear. The brand opened its first physical store on Liverpool's Peters Lane in September, drawing large queues on opening day.

Brand Philosophy and Celebrity Following

ARNE's founders describe the brand as rooted in simplicity, quality, and timeless design, using carefully sourced fabrics to create purposeful clothing. The label has been worn by celebrities including Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard. The new Manchester store will span 2,720 square feet, with a ten-year lease signed for the unit, set to open in June.

Industry Reactions

Scott Linard, Portfolio Manager for M&G Real Estate, commented: "Arne’s selection of New Cathedral Street for one of its first physical locations is a strong vote in confidence from yet another digitally native brand, following Alo Yoga, Represent and Arc’teryx. This addition further enhances our premium fashion offer and reflects our focus on attracting best-in-class brands that resonate with our visitors."

Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, added: "We are delighted to welcome Arne as it takes this next step into physical retail. This move highlights the strength of New Cathedral Street as a destination for brands looking to connect with customers in a highly engaging environment."

Recent Arndale Developments

The Arndale shopping centre has seen several recent announcements, including tech brand DJI's arrival, described as "years in the making." Additionally, British clothing brand Berghaus, known for its association with Liam Gallagher and the Oasis reunion, will open its first standalone Manchester store this summer.
