Argos has launched its Big Red Event, offering savings on household gadgets, furniture, tech and more until September 1. Among the deals is a £31 reduction on a modern dining table set, described as ideal for an autumn refresh.
Dining set now £124
The Argos Home Lido Glass Black Dining Table & 4 Black Chairs usually retails at £155 but is currently available for £124. The set features an easy-to-clean glass table top, a painted metal frame and four padded chairs, suited to modern and contemporary interiors.
It is a compact set that works in smaller houses and apartments, and Argos says two people are needed for the easiest assembly. The dining set is also available in white, although that version remains at the recommended retail price.
Shopper reviews
The Lido Dining Table and Chairs set holds a 95% recommendation rate on the Argos website. One five-star reviewer said: "I have wanted this table and chairs for a while now, I'm glad I waited as I got it in the sale, it looks perfect in my kitchen, looks more expensive than it was, very happy with it."
Another shopper commented: "I bought this table two weeks ago and I'm very happy with it. Perfect size for small room very sturdy and great chairs. Would definitely recommend for the price." A third buyer wrote: "Easy to assemble. I built this in an evening with my four year old grandson as my little helper. Easy to assemble. Turned out much better than I expected for the price."
However, some reviewers marked the set down due to chair quality, with one comment reading: "I'm happy with it. Chairs look a bit flimsy though."

Dunelm is offering 20% off the Ezra 6 Seater Rectangular Dining Table with 2 Benches, reduced from £379 to £303.20. The set includes a long rectangular table with two benches that would comfortably seat four people. Colours available include black, grey, light wood effect, rustic parquet and rustic wood effect. It arrives flat pack, requires full assembly, and Dunelm recommends two people for the task.
Wayfair has reduced the Holmen table and 4 chair dining set by George Oliver from £214.99 to £177.99 in the tan and brown colourway.
For other dining room upgrades, Next shoppers are praising the Gallery Wall Collage 6 Frame Photo Frame, available in black, brass and linen, and gold. It comprises six metal 7x5 inch frames with varying sized mounts and costs £85, with "easy" assembly promised.
