Argos has cut £18 off the Russell Hobbs Bronte Kettle, bringing the price down from £60 to £42. The kettle has attracted praise from customers for its design and ease of use, with one describing it as "the best kettle I have ever bought."
Design and features
The kettle comes in a stone colourway with a matte, fluted exterior and gold detailing. It has a 3,000W heating element designed to boil water quickly, and a 1.7-litre capacity that can prepare several hot drinks at once.
An illuminated water window shows how much water is inside, and a soft white light glows while the water boils. The push-button lid makes refilling straightforward, and a specially designed pouring spout helps prevent drips and spills.
What shoppers say
Weighing 1.11kg when empty, the kettle sits on a 360-degree rotating base, so it can be picked up and placed down from any angle. It also has a removable and washable limescale filter, plus a boil-dry protection feature that switches the appliance off if it is operated without water.
One Argos customer wrote: "I bought this kettle over a month ago and it is the best kettle I have ever bought. I have bought another one for when this stops working, as it is that good. The handle is one of the best I have ever used. Great for arthritic hands. The spout is slender and ensures the water doesn't splash everywhere when pouring. It has a rapid boil and is quieter than most other kettles. Great quality at such a great price."
Another added: "Great pour, nice handle, great as a matching set." A third said: "Beautiful kettle and is very lightweight, which is great when you have mobility issues." Some buyers noted it can spurt if poured too quickly after boiling. One said: "Kettle looks good and boils fairly quietly and fast. It spurts a bit if you pour it too quickly after boiling." Another wrote: "Nice kettle, but wait until it stops boiling, or it splashes all over."
