One retailer is undercutting major retailers like Apple and Amazon. Apple fans have been racing to get iPads and MacBooks for a fraction of the usual price as one retailer offers big discounts across its Apple range. Apple has cemented itself as one of the world’s most popular tech brands, but shoppers know that many of its products come with high price tags.
Some of the latest Apple devices now cost more than £1,000, but one way to avoid this and keep prices down is by shopping refurbished. Retailers like Wowcher offer a range of devices from older iPads to the newest MacBooks that come with significantly lower prices than buying brand-new, with models to suit any budget.
By opting for a refurbished device, shoppers can find fully functional iPads, MacBooks and more in conditions from ‘acceptable’ to ‘close to new’. We’ve hand-picked a series of Apple devices on sale at Wowcher, as well as some alternatives from Samsung, Amazon and HP.
11" Apple iPad Air M2 – £379 (was £649.99)
Released in 2024, this 11” iPad Air M2 is the sixth generation of Apple’s slim and lightweight tablet series. It’s powered by the brand’s M2 silicone chip, so it can run smoothly and efficiently when using more apps and multitasking, with a vivid 11” Liquid Retina Display that’s ideal for streaming films and TV shows.
This model boasts 128GB storage so it can be packed with photos, music and apps, as well as the flexibility of both WiFi and cellular connectivity. Wowcher is offering £270 off the iPad in ‘good’ condition, which may show ‘a few signs of wear and tear’ but is in ‘overall good shape’. Shoppers could upgrade to the ‘excellent’ model for £409, which is said to be ‘as close to new as possible’.
Apple iPad 5 – £65 (was £289.99)
An affordable option for casual users is the Apple iPad 5, which features a 9.7” Retina display and 32GB of storage. Having launched in 2017, it may not be the latest and greatest model, but it’s ideal for basic tasks like reading and web browsing thanks to its HD display and A9 processor.
Wowcher customers can pick up the slim and lightweight iPad 5 in ‘good’ condition, so while ‘fully functional,’ it will show ‘some signs of use’. A caveat is that this model can only be updated to the 2022 version of Apple’s software, iPadOS 16. This means upgrades for some apps will not be available, but it will still perform basic tasks adequately.
13" Apple MacBook Pro – £189 (was £490)
The MacBook Pro is the most powerful and premium line of Apple’s laptop range and therefore usually commands the highest prices. This 13” MacBook Pro is a fraction of the cost of newer models and comes in ‘overall good shape’ despite some ‘surface marks’.
It’s powered by Intel Core i5 processors and has 8GB RAM, so it can handle more demanding tasks and is designed with a 13.3” Retina Display for crystal clear images. It also boasts 128GB storage and a battery that’s in ‘good working condition’. Bear in mind that as a 2017 model, this MacBook does not support the latest macOS updates and security patches. Shoppers preferring the latest model without the high price tag could spread the cost at Sky Mobile, whereas the 14” MacBook Pro (2025) costs £35 over 48 months.
11.6" HP 2-in-1 Touch Chromebook – £49 (was £199.95)
For those preferring Google gadgets, the 11.6” HP 2-in-1 Touch Chromebook may be worth considering, as it functions as both a laptop and tablet. The versatile and compact device can easily transform from a laptop with a physical keyboard to a handheld or freestanding tablet thanks to its 360° hinge.
Combined with its 11.6” HD touchscreen with ‘scratch-resistant’ Corning Glass, this makes it a decent choice for using at home or on the go. The Chromebook offers 32GB storage and runs on Google’s Chrome OS, providing access to Google Play apps, cloud-based tools and easy syncing with other Google devices.
While Wowcher says the HP Chromebook may have 'a few surface marks’, it’s still 'aesthetically sound’ with full functionality. Stock is running low, though, with the retailer warning it’s ‘almost gone’. The HP Chromebook won’t talk to Apple devices, so shoppers with iPhones may want to consider staying in the Apple ecosystem if they want to sync with AirPods for example.
Apple Watch Series 7 – £89
Wowcher has flagged this Apple Watch Series 7 deal as ‘selling fast’, with more than 500 shoppers already snapping it up. The 2021 edition of Apple’s smartwatch is an affordable and ideal model for fitness fanatics as it offers tracking for workouts like running and swimming, plus monitoring of steps, heart rate and blood oxygen, at a fraction of the cost of the new Series 11 (£369).
It’s designed with a 41mm screen that’s both crack and water-resistant and offers basic functions like texting, social media notifications, plus controlling an iPhone’s camera and music player. This particular deal is for a Series 7 in ‘acceptable’ condition, meaning it shows ‘clear signs of consistent long-term use’. Wowcher customers can get it for £89 rather than £419 at IncTablet, but it’s worth noting this brand’s prices are higher than Apple’s 2021 launch price, when the Series 7 started at £369. Wowcher offers the same model in ‘good’ condition with ‘minor wear’ for £105. Also, it’s worth noting that the Series 7 no longer supports software updates, but its latest version is Apple’s watch OS 26, which was rolled out in September 2025.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE – £499 (was £639)
Android fans can look elsewhere, as Samsung has launched a sale on its Galaxy Tab S10 tablet series. These now start at £499 for the Galaxy Tab S10 FE, which also comes with a free Smart Book Cover worth £79 when using the code GIFT.
This is the ‘FE’ – or ‘Fan Edition’ – model of Samsung’s 2025 tablet series, which sacrifices some premium features for a more affordable price. It has a wide 10.9” LCD display with IP68-rated water and dust resistance and provides innovative Galaxy AI features to make everyday tasks simpler. There’s also one free addition that beats Apple, as the Tab S10 FE includes an S Pen stylus, something iPad users must buy separately.
Despite being a ‘cheaper’ model, this Galaxy tablet has been rated highly by Samsung shoppers, who have awarded it an average 4.8-star score and hailed it ‘a great value tablet’. One said: “This is a great value tablet. The display remains crisp, sharp and colourful. Battery life is very good, and the camera is excellent, generating crisp and colourful shots. In its price bracket, 10/10.” Others have noted minor niggles, as this reviewer said: “The fingerprint sensor does miss sometimes, but overall it does a great job.”
11" Apple iPad A16 – £399
The number-one seller in Amazon’s tablets category is this 11” iPad A16, which first hit the shelves in March 2025 as a new addition to Apple’s entry-level range. It’s intended to be a more affordable alternative to Apple’s Air and Pro series that’s suited for everyday use, but can still handle more demanding tasks like streaming and editing 4K video with its superfast A16 processor.
Externally, there’s a 12MP camera and 11” Liquid Retina display, while internally the iPad boasts 128GB of storage and WiFi 6 compatibility. It also supports accessories such as the Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard Folio, but these are sold separately. It’s available in a choice of pink, blue, silver and yellow colourways, but prices vary between each model. Amazon customers say the iPad A16 is ‘great value’ and ‘does everything you need at a fraction of the cost’ of more premium models. While others find it’s ‘not the fastest’, it’s still said to be ‘perfect’ for tasks like online gaming.
