An American man visiting the UK tried Marks & Spencer's Percy Pigs for the first time, sampling three different variations and sharing his ratings. Elliott Norris, who called the sweet "Percy the Pig," selected multiple versions because he "didn't know what to grab" among the "lot of different flavours" available.
Original Percy Pigs score 8.5
Norris found the "classic one" and tasted it first. He said he "overheard some British girls talking" to identify the original. Describing the sweets as "really cute," he noted the pigs have different coloured ears for a subtly varied flavour experience.
On tasting, he remarked "mmmm," characterising the flavour as "kinda floral." He said: "I've never tasted a candy that has this flavour. It's a little bit floral, quite refreshing, quite light, and very classy I will say." He described the texture as "a good gummy that meets like a taffy" and noted it was "surprisingly, not too sweet," scoring the Original Percy Pigs 8.5/10.
Percy Pig and Pals rated 9
Percy Pig and Pals introduces two new characters and flavours: a cola-flavoured cow and an orange-flavoured sheep. Norris sampled the cow sweet first, finding it "little softer" and praising the cola flavour as "delicious, very strong, scrumptious." He then tasted the sheep variety, which he said was "kinda nice" but not his top choice.
Norris preferred these over the original range, declaring he "loves" them, and awarded the confections 9/10.
Squidgy Snouts also earn 9
The M&S website describes Percy Pig Squidgy Snouts as "fruity foam sweets made with real fruit juice and a brand-new soft jelly texture. Shaped like Percy's snout and perfectly squidgy." Norris described them as "really good" with fantastic flavours, giving them 9/10.
Social media users shared their own enthusiasm. One commented: "Every food shop in M&S results in the mandatory Percy Pigs! They're definitely a must-have! I took some to the family in the Netherlands, and they loved them!" Another wrote: "The veggie ones are the best; however, you need to put them in the freezer... the jelly ears taste so much better. You'll never eat them straight out of the bag again."
