Amazon has undercut Shark by more than £100 in an early Prime Day vacuum deal. The Shark PowerProPet Cordless Stick Vacuum with Reveal Technology, usually £299.99, is currently reduced to £179.99—a total discount of £120 or 40%. This makes Amazon far cheaper than the SharkNinja website, where the same model costs £299.99.
Shoppers must be quick to claim the deal before it ends on Monday, October 5. The discount comes ahead of Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale, scheduled for October 6-7.
Features designed for pet owners
The Shark PowerProPet is designed for homes with pets, with Shark's signature anti-hair wrap technology ensuring it can easily tackle both long and short hair and fur without tangles. It's said to deliver 'powerful' suction and cleaning performance with FloorDetect technology that automatically adjusts the brush-roll speed to suit the floor type.
Reveal technology uses a cyan beam of light to illuminate fine dust and dirt that one may miss with the naked eye, while the vacuum's Flexology wand bends for easier cleaning beneath furniture. A key feature is the included FurFins Pet Tool, a handy attachment for removing pet hair from upholstery, plus a crevice tool for cleaning in tight nooks and crannies.
Battery life and customer ratings
The Shark vacuum has a battery life of up to 50 minutes on a single charge, with a removable battery that can be recharged both on or off the vacuum. It also boasts an easy-to-empty 0.7L dustcup and anti-allergen seal that Shark says captures 99.99% of dust and allergens.
Elsewhere, Dyson is knocking hundreds off several of its own vacuum cleaners, including £150 off the Cyclone V10 Total Clean at £299.99 (was £449.99). This model is said to deliver the suction power of a corded vacuum and can run for a longer 60 minutes.
As for Shark's PowerProPet Cordless Stick Vacuum, Amazon customers have awarded it a 4.6-star rating, with some saying their floors have 'never been so clean'.
"My carpet has never been so clean," one said. "This changes suction when you move to laminate flooring and I really really appreciate the feature that doesn't cause hair to get caught up. The Reveal Technology shows up dust on the floor before sucking it off into oblivion. All in all this is great, battery life is impressive and I also grabbed a kit to use on my car."
Another said: "A great vacuum, lightweight and sturdy. It has good suction and is easy to manoeuvre. Battery is fine, does my two-bed on a single charge. Copes well with rugs, carpet, tiles and wood floor. It's so easy to get out and have a quick whip round."
Despite their five-star review, the same buyer highlighted two minor niggles, adding: "Shame it doesn't stand up on its own, but folding is easy enough. Would have been nice if it came with a wall mount too, but not the end of the world."
While this shopper said: "I have laminate flooring with rugs [and] a 16-year-old Jack Russell. The blue light that comes on the vacuum shows up every bit of hair and fluff. I'm obsessed, those hairs get everywhere and it's so satisfying seeing them disappear. I don't have to use the powerful setting so the battery life is fantastic. It's so light, compact and easy to empty."
