Aldi's £7.99 Christmas Pudding Named Best in 2026 Taste Test
Aldi's £7.99 Pudding Tops 2026 Christmas Taste Test

Good Housekeeping's 2026 Christmas taste test has named Aldi's Specially Selected 24 Month Matured Christmas Pudding 800g (£7.99) as the best Christmas pudding to buy this year. The institute tested 26 classic and flavoured Christmas puddings with the help of its panel, including options from both supermarkets and luxury retailers.

To avoid brand bias, the puddings were tasted blind and cooked according to the packet instructions. While the £7.99 own-label product from Aldi took the top spot, some luxury options also made the list, as well as entries from other supermarkets.

Aldi's Specially Selected Roly Poly Whole Turkey (4-5.99kg) was named the overall 2026 winning product. Additionally, its own-brand mince pies and its pigs in blankets also took home the top prizes after these taste tests.

Julie Ashfield, chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, says: "To be recognised as the top festive destination by the prestigious Good Housekeeping Institute highlights Aldi's continued success in delivering premium-quality Christmas essentials at prices that remain accessible to all."

The Good Housekeeping Institute also revealed the results of its Christmas taste tests for other festive staples, naming the best mince pies, turkey crowns, party food and more.
