Aldi will add a 'genius' cooling fan to its middle aisle on July 2 as Britons endure a historic heatwave. The fan, priced at £6.99, features a flexible tripod and can be clipped to desks or bedside tables. It is part of Aldi's Mini Cooling range, which includes a Portable Air Cooler with LED (£14.99) and a Globe Fan with Multi-direction (£39.99).
Met Office Extends Red Heat Warning
The Met Office extended a rare red warning for extreme heat until 9pm on Friday, June 26, covering London, parts of east and southeast England, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Hampshire, and Kent. This marks the first time the UK has issued red heat warnings for three consecutive days. An amber warning remains for a wider area, including the East Midlands, East of England, northwest England, southwest England, West Midlands, and Yorkshire and Humber, until midnight Friday.
Products to Beat the Heat
Aldi's Specialbuys range includes the Portable Air Cooler with LED, which uses water and ice evaporation to lower room temperature without high energy costs. The Globe Fan with Multi-direction offers 360-degree rotation and three modes: Sleep, Natural Wind, and Drying. Other items include Summer Dreams duvets and pillows, priced from £7.99 to £12.99.
While Stocks Last
The products will be available in stores from July 2, while stocks last. Met Office Chief Meteorologist Andy Page said: 'This exceptional spell of hot and humid weather will maintain its grip on the UK for a little longer. We are expecting that some daytime maximum temperatures could exceed 36°C, perhaps rising to 37°C in some locations.'
