Aldi is releasing its new Ambiano Vertical Air Fryer on Thursday, October 1, priced at £49.99, positioning it as a budget-friendly alternative to Ninja's Double Stack Two-Drawer 7.6L SL300UK Air Fryer, which sells for £199.99.
The supermarket has previewed its upcoming Special Buy items for the Middle Aisle, including this space-saving vertical air fryer. Aldi's product description states: "Big on performance, slim on footprint. Enjoy healthier frying, roasting, and baking in a space-saving vertical design built for modern kitchens."
Capacity and Size Comparison
Both appliances stack cooking drawers vertically to reduce counter space, but the Aldi model offers a significantly larger capacity. The Ambiano has a total volume of 11 litres, split evenly between two 5.5-litre drawers, while the Ninja SL300UK has 7.6 litres (3.8 litres per drawer).
The extra volume makes the Aldi machine taller, standing at approximately 43cm—nearly 5cm more than the Ninja's 38.5cm. This height difference may affect placement under standard kitchen wall cabinets.
Heating and Features
The Ninja Double Stack uses a rear-positioned fan system with two wire racks, allowing cooking across four layers simultaneously despite smaller drawers. It includes six custom functions, such as max crisp and dehydrate.
The Aldi Ambiano operates at a maximum power of 2,460 watts (comparable to Ninja's 2,470 watts) and uses a 360-degree hot-air circulation system. It features a digital touch display with nine preset cooking programs but lacks multi-level racks.
Warranty and Availability
Warranty terms differ: Ninja offers a standard two-year warranty upon registration, while Aldi includes a three-year warranty with its Specialbuy appliance.
Availability remains a major trade-off. Ninja products are sold year-round at major electronic and department stores, but the Ambiano fryer is an Aldi Special Buy, sold exclusively in physical stores during specific promotional windows. Shoppers are limited to remaining middle-aisle stock.
