Aldi's £1.99 window seal backed by Octopus Energy tips

Aldi shoppers can pick up a £1.99 DIY kit designed to block cold draughts from windows and doors, with the offer available in all UK stores from Sunday, October 18, 2026.

The Workzone Window and Door Seal is a self-adhesive draught excluder with a D-shaped cross-section. Its hollow centre allows the rubber foam to compress easily when a door or window closes, filling uneven gaps tightly without preventing the door or window from latching securely.

How the seal works

By creating an airtight seal, the strip prevents cold outdoor breezes from entering and warm air from heating from escaping. This allows homeowners to retain warmth from central heating for longer. The yellow strip peeled away in the image reveals a strong adhesive layer, allowing it to stick directly onto glass, wood, or uPVC frames without needing extra tools, glue, or screws.

Aldi is selling the seal in white and black versions. The supermarket described the sets online: "Keep your home warmer and more comfortable with simple, easy-to-fit solutions designed to help reduce draughts, dust and heat loss. Ideal for windows [and] doors, these energy-saving essentials help improve insulation and keep the cold out."

Energy savings and other offers

Energy suppliers such as Octopus Energy and British Gas claim proper draught proofing helps homes reduce gas use. On Octopus Energy's 'energy efficiency tips' webpage, the supplier says: "For gaps around the edges of doors, use self-adhesive draught proofing strips. Foam strips are the cheapest option (starting price of £4.50) but may not be long-lasting. Other options include plastic or metal draught proofing strips."

The full collection arrives in stores on Sunday, alongside other heating and home gadgets. The SpecialBuy sale includes the return of the Ambiano Dehumidifier (£44.99) and two heating units (from £19.99). The Sunday sale also includes a selection of warm clothing for men, women, and children from £2.99.
