Aldi unveils 24 new stores opening before Christmas 2026

Aldi has revealed the full list of new branches it plans to open before Christmas 2026. The budget supermarket chain, which currently operates 1,092 stores, will launch or relocate nearly 30 sites over the next 10 weeks.

CEO on affordability push

Giles Hurley, Chief Executive Officer for Aldi UK and Ireland, said: "We're working hard to make good food more affordable for every family - cutting prices on everyday essentials, signing long-term supplier agreements to help increase home-grown production, and continuing to bring affordable groceries to even more communities through our store opening programme."

He continued: "This is why more customers are buying more products at Aldi - our relentless focus on simple, everyday low prices and award-winning quality."

Sales growth and investment

The retailer said its sales growth has been driven by a rising number of shoppers purchasing more items across its growing network of stores, crediting this to its focus on keeping everyday prices consistently low. Aldi has also committed to pressing ahead with its price-cutting approach on products throughout the festive season.

Over the course of this year, the supermarket has invested £340m in price cuts spanning more than 1,000 products, including items such as orange juice, butter, fresh meat and frozen fish.
