Aldi has confirmed a strict two-item per person purchase limit on its upcoming Wooden Toy collection, which goes on sale nationwide from October 8. The rule follows last year's event, when parents queued as early as 6:30am outside stores and brawled to secure the discounted items, described online as "absolute carnage".
Fair chance for every shopper
The German retailer said the move gives everyone a fair chance of getting their hands on the toys. Aldi recommends visiting your local store on launch day to avoid disappointment, and shoppers must head to a physical branch as Aldi does not have an online store.
An Aldi spokesperson said: "The collection of more than 50 wooden toys, including brand new products offers plenty of choice for parents to treat little ones without breaking the bank. But shoppers better act quickly, as with all Specialbuys, when they're gone, they're gone."
Collection details and prices
They added: "Available nationwide from 8th October, a strict two per product per person purchase limit applies to certain lines, giving every shopper a chance."
The collection includes more than 50 wooden toys, with highlights such as a wooden dollhouse at £34.99, a children's learning tower at £34.99, wooden kitchens at £29.99, and smaller items like wooden puzzles at £4.99 and small wooden vehicles at £3.99.
