Aldi has announced it will launch a series of new stores this month, generating up to 120 jobs. The budget supermarket, which has grown in popularity amid the ongoing cost of living crisis, has revealed the four locations for its new outlets.
New store locations and job creation
Following the launch of its new Balsall Common store near Solihull on September 3, Aldi will open a further three stores this September in Telford (Shropshire), Rayleigh (Essex) and Hoxton (East London), with up to 30 positions available at each site.
The launches are part of Aldi's £370 million investment in new stores this year and its long-term goal to operate 1,500 stores nationwide.
Expansion plans and festive closures
Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, said: "We know there are still communities across the country that want access to an Aldi store, and we're working hard to bring our unbeatable value to more of them.
"Opening a new store every week throughout September demonstrates the pace of our expansion, while creating new jobs and bringing high-quality, affordable food to even more shoppers."
The news follows Aldi's announcement earlier this month that every UK store will shut for three days over the festive period. The supermarket confirmed that every outlet across the country will be closed on Boxing Day this year, enabling staff to spend more quality time with loved ones following the Christmas rush.
