Aldi has confirmed it will open or relocate nearly 30 stores across the UK in the next 10 weeks, with 24 new locations set to welcome customers before the end of 2026.

The announcement follows the supermarket's annual trading update, which outlined further investment in new UK stores. Aldi currently operates 1,092 stores across the country.

The full list of new Aldi stores opening before the end of 2026 includes Bishop's Cleeve in Gloucestershire, Malton in North Yorkshire, Orpington in Greater London, Ashford in Kent, Newport in South Wales, Newport on the Isle of Wight, Basildon in Essex, Matlock in Derbyshire, Wimborne in Dorset, Stepney Green in London, and Orrell in Greater Manchester.

Additional locations include Dumbarton in West Dunbartonshire, Stourport-on-Severn in Worcestershire, Epsom in Surrey, Wellington in Somerset, Hattersley in Greater Manchester, Hanworth in Greater London, Willesden in London, Longbridge in the West Midlands, Waterlooville in Hampshire, Egremont in Cumbria, Lower Gornal in the West Midlands, Driffield in East Yorkshire, and Chatham in Kent.

Aldi stores in Sudbury, Sutton Coldfield and Wigan will also relocate before the end of the year.

Record Investment Announced

Last week Aldi announced it would invest a record £900m next year in new stores and distribution centres. The supermarket said its investment in 2027 will include 40 new stores, plus continued works on its distribution network.

The group has previously said it wants to reach 1,500 shops across the UK, with a drive to focus on communities cut off from affordable groceries due to lack of local choice or competition.

Strong Financial Results

The announcement coincides with Aldi's latest annual results, which saw turnover increase 5% to a record £19bn in the 12 months to December 31 2025. Latest industry figures estimate its share of the UK grocery market at 10.6%.

Giles Hurley, chief executive officer for Aldi UK and Ireland, said: “We’re working hard to make good food more affordable for every family – cutting prices on everyday essentials, signing long-term supplier agreements to help increase home-grown production, and continuing to bring affordable groceries to even more communities through our store opening programme.”

Aldi also reaffirmed its commitment to continue cutting prices across its range in the build-up to Christmas. Aldi is the UK's fourth largest grocery chain.
