Aldi to Open 24 New Stores by Christmas, Two in Greater Manchester

Aldi has announced it will open 24 new stores across the UK by Christmas, including two new sites in Greater Manchester. The supermarket revealed the expansion plans after confirming fresh investments for the business earlier this week.

The new Greater Manchester locations will be in Orrell and Hattersley. Aldi also said it will relocate its Wigan store by the end of the year, along with sites in Sudbury and Sutton Coldfield.

Commitment to affordable groceries

Giles Hurley, Chief Executive Officer for Aldi UK and Ireland, said: “We’re working hard to make good food more affordable for every family – cutting prices on everyday essentials, signing long-term supplier agreements to help increase home-grown production, and continuing to bring affordable groceries to even more communities through our store opening programme.”

Hurley added: “This is why more customers are buying more products at Aldi – our relentless focus on simple, everyday low prices and award-winning quality.”
