Aldi imposes three-bottle limit on viral £9.99 rosé magnum

Aldi is introducing a three-bottle limit on its viral Le Grand Poulet Rosé Magnum (1500ml) when it goes on sale for £9.99 later this week. The cap will be in place from Thursday, August 27, to Wednesday, September 2.

The supermarket describes the wine as embodying “freshness and character” and says the larger bottle offers even greater value. Equivalent to two standard bottles, the 150cl magnum is pitched as ideal for summer picnics or dinner parties, with refreshing notes of citrus fruits and red berries.

Wine influencer praise

Aldi calls it a “light, dry rosé” that is “crisp on the palate”. Wine influencer Sam Caporn recently took to Instagram to hail the new addition as a “gorgeous magnum” and “even more of a winner!”

Shoppers can also buy the standard-sized version, Le Petit Poulet Rosé (£6.29, 75cl), reports the Liverpool Echo.

Superfam Pass giveaway

In other news, Aldi is offering families the chance to win its new Superfam Pass, giving one household a full year of free groceries. The winning household will receive £800 worth of free shopping every month throughout the year, totalling £9,600.

The prize covers everything from weekly essentials and fresh food to middle aisle finds. Superfam Pass holders will also receive Specialbuys tailored to their household, spanning toys, activities, homeware and garden equipment worth £400.

The closing date for entries is Monday, September 21, at 11.59pm, and the winning household will be notified by Monday, October 5. Full terms and conditions are available on Aldi's website.

Bank holiday opening hours

Aldi has also revealed its opening hours for the August bank holiday. Stores across Wales will be open from 8am until 8pm on bank holiday Monday, August 31.

Figures from last year's August bank holiday weekend indicate that 8am-9am and 7pm-8pm were the quietest times to visit. Opening times may differ by location, so shoppers are advised to check the Aldi website for their nearest store's hours before setting off.
