Aldi has announced a full list of new stores it plans to open before Christmas 2026. The discount supermarket chain, which currently operates 1,092 outlets, will open or relocate nearly 30 locations over the next 10 weeks, extending access to budget-friendly shopping to additional neighbourhoods.
Expansion programme details
Giles Hurley, Chief Executive Officer for Aldi UK and Ireland, said: "We're working hard to make good food more affordable for every family - cutting prices on everyday essentials, signing long-term supplier agreements to help increase home-grown production, and continuing to bring affordable groceries to even more communities through our store opening programme."
He added: "This is why more customers are buying more products at Aldi - our relentless focus on simple, everyday low prices and award-winning quality."
Sales growth and price cuts
The supermarket stated that sales growth has been fuelled by increased customer numbers purchasing more items across its expanding network of shops, attributing this to its unwavering commitment to consistently low everyday prices. Aldi has also pledged to maintain its price-cutting strategy on products throughout the Christmas period.
Throughout this year, the retailer has invested £340m into price reductions covering more than 1,000 items, including products such as orange juice, butter, fresh meat and frozen fish.
