Aldi Christmas 2026: Truffle & Honey Cheddar is a must-buy

Aldi's 2026 Christmas range has been unveiled, and the standout product is the Specially Selected Luxury Truckle Tower, featuring a new Truffle & Honey Cheddar that impressed testers with its earthy yet balanced flavour.

The range, previewed in October, includes a mix of new items and returning favourites, all priced well below many competitors. Aldi was recently named the cheapest supermarket for September by Which?, marking its seventh consecutive monthly win.

Cheese tower and vegetarian main

The Specially Selected Luxury Truckle Tower (£13.99, 1kg) combines a new creamy Wensleydale with Cranberry, Blueberry & Sloe Gin, the new Truffle & Honey Cheddar, and returning favourites like Extra Mature Coastal Cheddar and Aged Red Leicester. The Truffle & Honey Cheddar was singled out as the star, offering earthy flavour without being too rich. For those who prefer a sharper taste, the Extra Mature Coastal Cheddar is also highlighted. A budget-friendly option includes super-sized truckles at £2.49, shaped like classic Christmas icons.

For vegetarians, Aldi introduced the Specially Selected Cauliflower Cheese Wellington (£4.99, 400g), a twist on the traditional Wellington that combines cauliflower cheese with flaky pastry.

Desserts and seafood

Returning for a second year is the Specially Selected Ultimate Belgian Chocolate Gold Coin (£7.99, 470g), now joined by a new bite-sized version, the Specially Selected Mini Gold Coin Bites (£3.99, 162g), featuring the same gold Belgian milk chocolate shell with caramel sauce, chocolate ganache, and honeycomb pieces. Other returning confectionery includes the Specially Selected Chocolate and Caramel Christmas Trees (price TBC) and the Moser Roth Chocolate Place Setting Kit (£3.99, 120g), which comes with an edible transfer for decorating.

In seafood, Aldi's Specially Selected The Ultimate Himalayan Salt Aged Smoked Salmon (£3.99, 100g) is described as flaky, juicy, and tender. The Specially Selected Seafood Sharing Ramekin (£5.49, 260g) features king prawns, Argentinian red shrimp, and Patagonian scallops in a creamy cheddar, sauvignon blanc, and brandy sauce, though it was not tasted during the preview.

The range focuses on new flavours and returning customer favourites, with prices designed to keep quality accessible during the cost of living crisis.
