Aldi shoppers are celebrating as the supermarket brings back a cult classic steak just in time for Father's Day. The budget retailer is reintroducing its popular 28oz Godfather Rump Steak, which has gained a dedicated following among customers.
Return of the Godfather Steak
The substantial 794g British rump steak, aged for 21 days, will be available in stores from 15 June at a price of £11.99. This steak has previously generated significant excitement on social media, particularly on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook page.
During its last release, shoppers expressed their enthusiasm with comments such as: "Omg I loved this last year. Might have 2 this year." Another customer wrote: "Oooooo love too get me gums round that." A third added: "Allie babe that is so me we need to get them."
Father's Day Meat Collection
The Godfather steak is part of Aldi's Father's Day meat collection, which also includes a new Flat Iron Man Steak. This extra-large British beef product is priced at £15.99 per kilogram and is designed as a centerpiece for barbecues and family gatherings.
For those seeking a premium option, Aldi is restocking its Specially Selected Wagyu Bone-In Sirloin at £34.99 per kilogram. This cut represents the top tier of the supermarket's Father's Day selection.
Additional Offerings
The range also features a new Specially Selected Bourbon Beef Short Rib, retailing at £11.99 per kilogram. These slow-cooked ribs are glazed in a bourbon barbecue sauce, offering a smoky flavor ideal for summer gatherings.
To complement the steaks, customers can purchase Aldi's Skin On Beef Dripping Chips, Specially Selected Chunky Oven Chips, or Cavolo Nero side dishes.
The Father's Day collection will be available in Aldi stores across the country from 15 June, while stocks last.
