Aldi has partnered with three renowned Scottish bakers to introduce a limited-edition pie range celebrating the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The collection is now available in all Scottish Aldi stores.
World Cup Pie Selection
The budget supermarket has launched eight new treats inspired by the host nations: the USA, Mexico, and Canada. Leading the lineup is Pie Sports, which created the Chilli Cheese Dog Pie, Maple BBQ Brisket Pie, and Mexican Spicy Beef Pie, all priced at £2.89. Additionally, the Scottish Stovies pie pays homage to the Scotland Football Team, featuring seasoned pork link sausages, potato, and vegetables.
Collaborations with Local Bakers
Kilmarnock-based Brownings, known for the famous Killie Pie, developed the Tartan Army Pie (£1.99) with classic mince and potatoes. Bells, the family-run firm behind the Scotch Pie, offers the Mexican Chicken Fajita Pie, Philly Cheesesteak Pie, and Maple Bacon Mac & Cheese Pie, each at £2.49.
Fan Optimism and Research
Aldi commissioned a survey of over 1,450 Scots, revealing that 77% believe Scotland can progress through the group stages. Despite early morning matches, 82% plan to follow the team, with one in six staying up to watch. Alan Leslie, Buying Director at Aldi Scotland, said: "Pies are loved by supporters, and creating a special range for the tournament made perfect sense." Brian Sarafilovic, Managing Director of Pie Sports, added: "Getting to create a range that takes inspiration from the host nations while celebrating Scottish baking has been an absolute joy."
Availability
The World Cup pie range is available for a limited time in all Scottish Aldi stores, ahead of Scotland's first match against Haiti on June 14 at Gillette Stadium, Massachusetts.
