Aldi's new Christmas collection lands in stores this Thursday, November 5, featuring a £4.99 Novelty Gravy Boat that closely resembles a £45 Le Creuset version sold at John Lewis.
The nostalgic range, described by the supermarket as its most magical Christmas collection, includes vintage homeware and baking essentials starting from £1.99. Items such as gravy boats and Christmas cookie jars will be available in the middle aisle, but shoppers will need to act fast, as with all Specialbuys, "once they're gone, they're gone".
Festive Designs and Availability
The Novelty Gravy Boat comes in whimsical Christmas Tree and Gingerbread House designs. Although the item has no reviews yet, Aldi's description states: "Whether you're pouring delicious gravy, hearty pan juices, or creative dips, this charming gravy boat brings effortless style to your table and helps you serve with perfect control."
The Aldi version is very similar to the Le Creuset Stoneware L'Etoile Christmas Collection Heritage Sauce Jug, which is now discounted to £33.75 on the John Lewis website, down from £45.
Expert Comparison and Alternatives
Cookware experts at Art of Living commented on the high-end gravy boat, saying that "it is genuinely inspired by the winter star that has long guided people home, not just a generic festive pattern". They also noted that the gravy boat's capacity matters more at Christmas than any other time of year, and this one "is genuinely sized for serving a table's worth of sauce or gravy at once, rather than individual portions".
Another Christmas tree-inspired option is the Spode Christmas Tree Sauce Boat & Stand, priced at £38.85.
