Six models of Tower air fryers sold at major UK retailers including Argos, B&M, Sainsbury's, and Tesco have been urgently recalled due to a fire risk. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) issued an alert stating the products can overheat and ignite during use, failing to meet the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Affected models are the T17023 2.2Ltr Manual, T17061BLK 4Ltr Manual, T17067 4Ltr Digital, T17087 2Ltr Compact Manual, T17129L Vortx 8L, and T17129 Vortx 8L, all in black, produced between January 2022 and April 2023. Owners are urged to stop using the appliances immediately and unplug them.
Tower has launched a voluntary recall, stating customer safety is its top priority. Affected customers can check their model via the rating label on the bottom of the unit and visit www.tower-safety.co.uk for replacement or refund options.
