Walmart Recalls Squeeze Toys Over Asbestos Contamination Risks
Walmart Recalls Squeeze Toys Over Asbestos

More than 121,000 units of Orb Funkee Squeeze Toys have been recalled after concerns emerged that the sand filling inside the toys may contain fibrous tremolite asbestos. The recall applies specifically to Funkee Monkees models sold at Walmart and Ollie's Bargain Outlet across the United States.

Health Risks and Product Details

If the toys are damaged, asbestos fibers could be released into the air, posing serious inhalation risks. Prolonged exposure to asbestos is known to cause respiratory diseases and various forms of cancer. The recalled items include a large gold monkey model (item number 17451) and smaller multicolored versions (item number 41929). These products carry a date code of 3102491A and were sold from February 2025 through April 2026.

Consumer Guidance

Customers who have purchased these toys are strongly advised to stop using them immediately. The Orb Factory, the manufacturer, is offering a full refund for returned products. Consumers should contact The Orb Factory directly to initiate the refund process and follow specific disposal instructions provided by the company. For intact toys, customers are instructed to seal them in a plastic bag before disposal, while damaged toys require double-bagging to prevent fiber release.
