Vale Veterinary Centre, a family-run practice with three locations in South Wales, has ceased trading as of Monday, July 27, 2026. All branches in Barry, Cardiff, and Newport have shut immediately, and all upcoming appointments have been cancelled.
Earlier closure of Barry branch
The Barry branch had already been closed since July 13 and was expected to remain shut until August. A previous Facebook post had advertised for a locum vet at that site. However, a post on Monday confirmed the abrupt end of trading for the entire practice.
Practice description and patient records
On its website, Vale Veterinary Centre describes itself as "one of the last independent vet centres in south Wales." The practice stated that patient histories can be forwarded to local surgeries upon request, and urged customers to show consideration towards staff during this "difficult time."
The full Facebook post read: "Unfortunately as of July 27, 2026, Vale Veterinary Centre has now ceased trading as a veterinary practice. All future appointments are cancelled. We can send patient histories to local practices on request. We ask that you respect our staff at this difficult time."
