Major UK supermarkets including Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, and Ocado have issued an urgent product recall for Ferrero's Frozen Nutella Croissants, sold in packs of four, due to the risk of metal contamination. Customers are advised not to consume the product and return it to the store for a full refund.
Affected Batch Codes and Best-Before Dates
The recall affects specific batches with batch codes L126Z39 and L127Z39, and best-before dates of May 6, 2027 and May 7, 2027. The products were distributed to multiple retailers across the UK.
European Recall and Ferrero Statement
The recall also extends to Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Hungary, and Romania for the same reason. Ferrero stated: "Ferrero announces the recall of specific batches of its frozen bakery products Nutella Croissant and Nutella Muffin in Europe due to the risk that some products may contain metal fragments." The company confirmed that only these specific batches are affected and no other Ferrero products are involved. Food safety authorities have been informed, and Ferrero is coordinating with customers and partners to ensure an effective recall. Consumers are urged not to consume the products and return them to the point of purchase.
