Sex Shop Near Liverpool Station Seeks Licence Renewal

An application has been submitted to Liverpool City Council to renew the sex shop licence for Private Shop at 63/65 Moorfields, located next to the major Liverpool train station. Stephen Leinster of The Old Barn, Southgore, North Leverton, Retford, applied on 23 June 2026 under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 Part II Schedule 3.

Public Consultation Period

Any person wishing to make representations about the application must write to Liverpool City Council, Licensing & Public Protection, Cunard Building, Water Street, Liverpool, L3 1AH by no later than 21 July 2026. Written representations received may be made available for public inspection in accordance with the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985.

Wirral Traffic Restrictions

Wirral Borough Council has made several temporary traffic restriction orders. St John Street and Catherine Street in Birkenhead will be closed from Grange Road to Oliver Street from 6 July 2026 for up to 18 months, with an alternative route via Horatio Street. Greenwood Road in Meols will be closed at its junction with Birkenhead Road for 60 metres from 15 July 2026, anticipated to reopen by 22 July 2026. Ormond Way in Noctorum will be closed from its junction with Ossett Close to Olivia Close from 12 August 2026, expected to reopen by 21 October 2026. Moreton Road in Upton will see three separate closures from 20 July 2026, with works anticipated to complete by 31 August 2026; alternative routes are specified.
