Foxy Cars Private Hire Services Limited, a private hire taxi company based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, has entered voluntary liquidation. The company, which had been operating since January 2017, appointed liquidators on July 20, with an update published in the London Gazette on July 27.

Andrew Hook and Julie Anne Palmer of BTG Begbies Traynor (Central) LLP have been appointed as the liquidators overseeing the winding-up process. A Winding-Up Order confirmed the business was being wound up voluntarily. No information has been released on potential staff redundancies at this stage.
Company background
Foxy Cars operated a fleet of three vehicles: two 8-seat Ford Tourneo Customs and a Skoda Octavia estate. The company had built a reputation for reliability, earning positive reviews from customers. Allison Harker commented: “First class service from Foxy Cars. Phil dropped us off and picked us up from Gatwick, 8 people plus luggage, very nice comfortable journey, reliable and on time.” Carl Jones added: “Phoned up and had a Taxi within 15 mins late on a Saturday evening whilst it was raining. Always first firm I call when I need a ride.”
Part of a wider trend
The liquidation is the latest in a series of motoring firms facing difficulties this summer. Earlier in July, Mike O'Sullivan Garage Services Limited, a family-run garage open since 2002, also entered liquidation, and Knowl Hill Performance & Luxury, a luxury garage and dealership, appointed liquidators on July 16.
