Five UK Companies Enter Administration Including Furniture Maker

Five UK companies have entered administration in the past week, including a 150-year-old furniture manufacturer, a homebuilder, and a party planning firm. The businesses are among thousands facing administration in 2026.

Airsprung

Airsprung, a Wiltshire-based mattress and bed manufacturer supplying major retailers, has entered administration after 150 years of trading. The company faced challenging conditions in recent years and explored options before calling in administrators. 71 staff were made redundant, while remaining employees continue to support ongoing operations. The business is still trading.

Groupia

Groupia, a stag and hen party organiser founded in 1999, has ceased trading and entered administration. No new bookings are being accepted. Trips booked to depart on or before August 31 will be honoured, and refunds will be issued for plans from September 1 onwards.

Devonshire Homes

Devonshire Homes, formerly Langworthy Construction, has entered administration after over 30 years in business. The homebuilder operated across Devon, Cornwall, and Somerset, constructing more than 2,000 homes since 2008. It specialised in traditional countryside homes with thatched roofs, contemporary apartments, and redeveloped Grade II listed buildings.

Ardmore

Ardmore, a construction group founded in 1974, entered administration following a landmark High Court ruling in April. The group includes Ardmore Hotels & Commercial, Ardmore Major Projects, Ardmore Fitout, Landmark Facades, and Ardmore Regeneration. It employed around 77 staff. Difficulties stemmed from a partially completed timber-frame project that cost significantly more than expected.

BMB Logistics

BMB Logistics, a Tonbridge, Kent-based food distribution company, has entered administration after just three years in business. The firm specialised in temperature-sensitive goods and claimed to provide cost-effective, efficient service. The reason for administration is not yet known.
