Capri-Sun Orange Recalled in Northern Ireland Over Mislabeling Error
Capri-Sun Orange Recalled in Northern Ireland Over Mislabeling

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has urgently recalled specific batches of Capri-Sun Orange in Northern Ireland, warning customers not to consume the product and to return it for a full refund. The recall applies to multipacks of 10 x 200ml pouches with batch codes L104, L105, and L106 and a best before date of April 1, 2027.

Mislabeling Error Poses Risk to Sugar-Conscious Consumers

Capri Sun UK Limited issued the recall after discovering that some multipacks of Capri-Sun Orange contain pouches mistakenly labeled as Capri-Sun Orange Zero. The pouches actually contain standard Capri-Sun Orange with its usual sugar content, as correctly indicated on the multipack packaging. This mislabeling could pose a health risk to individuals who need to monitor their sugar intake, such as diabetics.

The FSA stated: “The product is a potential hazard to consumers who have to monitor their sugar consumption.” No other Capri-Sun products are affected by this recall.

Action for Customers

Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail outlets stocking the affected product, explaining the reason for the recall and advising customers on the necessary steps. Customers who have purchased the affected batches and rely on accurate sugar content information are urged not to consume the pouches. Instead, they should return the product to the retailer for a full refund, with no receipt required.

Additional Recall: M&S Truffle Gouda

Separately, M&S Food has recalled its Truffle Gouda cheese (150g, product code 29424887, use-by date October 9, 2026) due to the detection of Listeria monocytogenes. Customers are advised not to eat the cheese and to return it to any M&S store for a full refund. Symptoms of listeriosis can resemble flu, including high temperature, muscle aches, chills, nausea, and diarrhea. In rare cases, the infection can lead to severe complications such as meningitis.
