Urgent recall notices have been issued for a number of products by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) in recent days. While some recalls appear to be relatively low risk, one item poses a serious chemical risk and another poses a risk of fire. Customers with affected items are advised to stop using them immediately and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Items have been recalled from numerous retailers, including Argos, Amazon, and Currys.
Vice Versa Boutique Leo Face Sticker
This facial sticker has been recalled due to serious chemical concerns, as it has been found to contain excess concentrations of phthalates. It has been withdrawn from the market. The OPSS says: "Phthalates may harm the health of children, possibly causing damage to the reproductive system. Improvements are also required to the product markings and warning labelling." Consumers should stop using the product immediately and contact the distributor for redress.
Vestel UK Plugs in Various Televisions
A number of plugs have been recalled as they present a risk of fire because the plug’s fuse does not meet the requirements of BS 1362. Consumers can visit Television Safety Notice to request a free replacement accessory (replacement power cable or fuse).

The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005."
