A woman has spoken out after her neighbour repeatedly drove over her front garden, turning it into a 'mud bath'. Gabriella, who is in her 30s, said the road she lives on is "really tight", but most drivers manage to manoeuvre with respect. Her neighbour, however, chooses to drive over the grass regardless.
Neighbour Ignores Requests and Damages Flower Box
Gabriella explained: "I don't know if we're in the wrong for this, but my neighbour keeps driving over the front of my grass. It's starting to look like a mud bath, and it's just not very nice." She added that she finds it "f*****g rude" and can get out of the space without driving over anyone's garden.
After becoming fed up, her family built a tall flower box to place on the affected grass. She said: "We made sure it was high so that they could see it. Anyway, said neighbour has continued to drive over the flower box, break the flower box, and then just drive off like nothing happened." The neighbour later apologised, saying she "had to take the kids to school".
Suggestions to Protect the Lawn
Gabriella's husband also came over to apologise and suggested moving the flower box to the back garden because of the tight spacing. This was not the first request, as bamboo sticks had been placed around the corner of the grass earlier.
After sharing her story on TikTok, hundreds of people offered advice. One suggested large rocks, calling them the "Best investment you'll ever make". Another recommended a fence, sharing how they had concreted in fence posts after a postie kept driving over their lawn. A third said: "Get a concrete flower box and plant your flowers girl, you got this."
