Midland Bakeries Limited, a Walsall-based supplier of bulk baked goods, has collapsed into liquidation after more than a decade of trading. Liquidators were appointed on September 10.
The company, which described itself as providing premium bulk baked goods to businesses across the foodservice, retail and catering industries, was established on January 16, 2016, according to Companies House records. It supplied bulk bakery requirements for cafés, hotels and corporate clients.
Liquidators appointed
Craig Povey and Gareth Prince, both of BTG Begbies Traynor, have been brought in as liquidators. The appointment means an authorised insolvency practitioner assumes complete control of the company to wind up its operations, dispose of its assets and shut down the business.
Debts and wider pressures
According to the most recent filings on Companies House, the business owed sums totalling £114,698 due within one year up to the end of January 2025.
The firm's demise comes amid a wave of businesses entering liquidation, with numerous sectors grappling with serious financial difficulties.
