Tyler Perry is selling his lavish California estate, which once housed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, for £43 million ($57 million). The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stayed at the 22.5-acre property when they first moved to the US in 2020, before finding their permanent home in Montecito, California.
Beverly Hills listing
According to the Wall Street Journal, which first reported the story, the estate is among the priciest listings in Beverly Hills. Mr Perry did not comment, but he recently announced plans to move to Puerto Rico.
The property, named Chateau Reve, has eight bedrooms, a separate one-bedroom guesthouse, and staff quarters. The Mediterranean-style mansion offers “an extraordinary expression of privacy, security, and exclusivity,” according to the agency.
Other properties
In June, the media mogul also listed his property in Jackson for £30 million ($39.5 million). Santiago Arana, of The Agency estate agent, said: “He’s spending less and less time [in California].”
Mr Perry bought the property for just £3.2 million ($4.3 million) and completed construction in 2012. The listing describes it as “a true trophy property for the most discerning collector of fine real estate.”

The estate includes a living room, dining room, private study, a chef’s kitchen with a butler’s pantry, a family room, and expansive outdoor terraces. It also features a gym with a steam shower, a music hall, wine storage, and dedicated massage and salon rooms.
