Woman's fury as strangers keep trying to enter her home due to neighbour's holiday lets

A woman has described her frustration after strangers repeatedly tried to enter her home, mistaking it for her neighbour's holiday cottage business. The problem has persisted for almost 20 years, despite clear signs indicating otherwise.

In a post on Reddit, the woman explained that her neighbours rent out a set of small cottages to tourists. Her own house, hidden behind a long winding driveway, is frequently confused by guests, even though the holiday cottages and their car park are clearly visible.

The woman said visitors have knocked on her door at all hours, parked in her driveway, and even walked into her back garden and living room. She branded them "the most stupid type of people" and said she is at her wits' end.

She has a sign at the end of her driveway that states "private property", but many guests ignore it. The woman is reluctant to confront her neighbours, who she described as "good people" who helped her during the pandemic.

Commenters on Reddit suggested she place a clearer sign directing people to the correct cottages, and one advised that she could tell her neighbours she would call the police if the issue continues. The woman said she has considered this but does not want to upset her neighbours.
