A property featuring a secret tunnel has been listed for £85 million near Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump's Florida estate. The tunnel reportedly connects the main residence to a beach club, similar to an access point used in a 2018 security breach at Trump's resort.
Mar-a-Lago itself has a history of security lapses, including a Chinese national carrying malware-laden devices passing a Secret Service checkpoint, and a fake heiress gaining access for photos with Trump. In 2017, classified information about North Korean missile launches was visible on a laptop in the open-air dining room.
The FBI's August 2022 search of Mar-a-Lago found highly classified documents in a storage area and an office, some stuffed in a desk drawer. The property's status as a private club with unvetted guests has long raised security concerns.
