Luxury wellness and skincare brand Rituals Cosmetics is set to open a new boutique at the Gyle Shopping Centre in Edinburgh in September 2026. An official opening date has yet to be confirmed.
Brand background and expansion
Founded over 25 years ago in Amsterdam, Rituals is known for its luxury bath, body and home care collections, including bestselling foaming shower gels. The retailer expanded into the UK around 2005 and now operates more than 1,500 boutiques across 33 countries. In Scotland, there are around 12 standalone stores and airport boutiques.
The new Gyle branch will be the brand's third in Edinburgh, joining existing stores at St James Quarter and Fort Kinnaird Retail Park.
Immersive experience
The boutique will offer an immersive experience with signature ranges designed to inspire mindfulness and self-care. The opening is part of Rituals' UK expansion strategy, reinforcing its commitment to luxury wellbeing in high footfall destinations.
Earlier this month, Rituals announced a $40 million (£34.09 million) investment to renew around 1,500 boutiques across 30 countries in just 30 days, a unique approach. The renewed concept features a 'Beauty World' central space for skincare, make-up, hair care and fragrance, with upgraded lighter, premium interiors.
Physical retail commitment
Rituals says the project highlights its commitment to physical retail, stating that walk-in stores are where it truly comes to life. Last year, the brand opened a boutique at the Thistles Shopping Centre in Stirling. Other Scottish locations include Aberdeen, Livingston, Glasgow, Dundee and Inverness.
In related news, Sephora opened its first Scottish store in Edinburgh's St James Quarter on July 9, drawing large queues. Charlotte Tilbury also launched a counter at Boots in Aberdeen's Bon Accord centre.
