Peter Kay's £23m Property Empire Revealed

Comedian Peter Kay has built a property portfolio worth £23 million, according to Companies House documents. The 52-year-old star is director of Oldham-registered Hussein Traders, which holds the properties, and co-director of Goodnight Vienna Productions.

Combined profits from the two companies reached nearly £2.6 million in the past year. A financial expert noted Kay's savvy investment, saying he has put much of his income into property, competing with movie stars and rock icons.

Kay recently added nine dates to his record-breaking Better Late Than Never tour, now running until August next year. All proceeds will go to 12 cancer charities, as he acknowledged that “everybody knows someone who’s been affected” by the disease.

On The One Show, he urged support: “You don't even have to like me to come, it goes beyond that, this is about supporting these charities.”

Meanwhile, Kay revealed that Netflix wanted to license Phoenix Nights but he declined because they insisted on a trigger warning. He said the show is “not very politically correct now” and that he didn't want a warning before it.
