Nigella Lawson is set to make her debut as the new judge on Great British Bake Off alongside Paul Hollywood. The TV chef and author, 66, will bring her culinary expertise to the famous tent after taking over from Prue Leith.
While she is expected to be occupied with her new job, it appears Nigella has the ideal retreat to relax. She is understood to reside in a £5million property in Chelsea, London.
A colourful kitchen and cosy library
Nigella's lavish home is on a quiet street lined with houses that were once stables. She relocated to the property in 2013 after separating from her businessman husband, Charles Saatchi. Nigella prefers to keep most of her personal life out of the spotlight, though she has occasionally offered glimpses of her home.
It comes as no surprise that Nigella possesses a beautifully styled, spacious kitchen. It boasts pink cabinetry beneath her sink, light green cabinetry throughout and a deep green Aga. She takes pride in displaying her pots and pans, hanging from a metal beam. The cooking expert is evidently highly organised, as her kitchen also contains several pots with all her cutlery neatly separated.
Conservatory, cinema and wine cellar
In another part of her home, Nigella has a comfortable library featuring a leather armchair and an extensive bookcase. It opens into her conservatory, which is filled with expansive wall and ceiling windows. During the evening, the area is illuminated with warm fairy lights and lamps. Her home is also understood to include a cinema and a wine cellar.
A storybook garden
Nigella's flair for design extends well beyond her interior spaces, as her garden resembles something plucked straight from an enchanted storybook. Her urban sanctuary boasts an impressive variety of wildflowers. The centrepiece of her outdoor area is a seating space nestled beneath a canopy of trees. It skilfully offers shade and protection while seamlessly blending in natural features. As a finishing touch, Nigella has draped delicate fairy lights throughout the canopy, creating a stunning effect on a summer's evening.
Nigella hasn't revealed the bedrooms within her home, though it's evident her love of food accompanies her throughout every room. She told The Times that she is "very pro-eating in bed". The Bake Off judge added: "I will eat absolutely anything in bed except something that needs a knife and fork. It has to be either fingers or a spoon."
