The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, have moved back to the UK this week, six years after relocating to America. They arrived with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, at Birmingham Airport on Wednesday lunchtime, travelling on a private jet.
The family is believed to have headed to their new UK home, though few details have been shared about its location. It has been confirmed that the property is not a royal residence, is located outside of London, and is thought to be rented rather than owned by the couple, who still retain their Montecito mansion.
Property Expert's Three Priorities
Rumours suggest the home is in The Cotswolds, an area where Harry and Meghan reportedly have fond memories. It is also a popular celebrity destination, with David Beckham and Princess Beatrice among those owning properties there.
Saif Derzi, founder of Property Buyers Today, told the Daily Express that the couple needed to choose a UK home with three things in mind: seclusion, security, and a sense of normality.
“For Harry and Meghan, privacy is likely to be the most important priority when choosing a Cotswolds property,” Derzi said. “They’ll need somewhere that offers genuine seclusion, strong security potential, and enough space to give their family a sense of normality.”
Privacy and School Plans
Derzi added that the couple would have wanted a property offering privacy while still having good links to London. They would also have considered how secure the grounds are, and whether they could enjoy home life without disruptions and privacy invasions.
Wherever the couple have settled, it is believed their children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, have already been enrolled in a local school. They are expected to start in September when the new term begins.
