Manchester United have completed their fifth summer signing under Michael Carrick, bringing in goalkeeper Kit Margetson on a free transfer. The 20-year-old former Swansea City prospect has joined after his contract with the Swans expired last month.
Margetson spent last season on loan at Connah's Quay Nomads, where he kept 10 clean sheets in 34 appearances and helped the Welsh side qualify for European competition. He has also earned youth international caps for Wales, making his Under-21s debut against Belarus in March.

A club statement read: "Manchester United have agreed the signing of exciting young goalkeeper Kit Margetson, subject to registration. The 20-year-old was most recently at Swansea City, a club he'd been with since under-15s.
"Last season, he had his first taste of senior football on loan at Connah's Quay Nomads and kept 10 clean sheets in 34 appearances, helping the Welsh side to qualify for European competition."
Margetson becomes Carrick's fifth summer acquisition, following midfielders Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans from Chelsea and Aston Villa respectively, veteran ex-Leeds United goalkeeper Karl Darlow, and ex-Tottenham Hotspur youth winger Tynan Thompson.
Goalkeeper reshuffle continues
Margetson is the second goalkeeper to join this summer after Darlow, who was recruited as a free agent from Leeds to provide cover for Senne Lammens. Meanwhile, Andre Onana has returned to Trabzonspor on loan, and both Radek Vitek and Altay Bayindir are also expected to depart.
Alex Scott chase faces complications
United's pursuit of Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has encountered a new twist, with Chelsea considering a second bid. The west London club reportedly saw an initial £64m offer turned down by Bournemouth, who insist the 22-year-old is not for sale.
Scott has turned down a fresh Bournemouth contract, indicating he sees his future elsewhere. United had valued Scott at around £40m, given his lack of a senior England cap and Champions League experience. However, Bournemouth are demanding upwards of £70m, leading United to walk away from any deal for now.
United have also been linked with Roma's Manu Kone, Real Madrid's Aurelien Tchouameni, and Brighton's Carlos Baleba as they assess midfield options.
