Man Discovers Hidden Safe Behind Kitchen Tiles, Finds Cash and iPhone

A man undertaking a kitchen renovation was left astonished after breaking down tiles and discovering a hidden safe behind the wall. The video, shared on TikTok by user @CoinCollectingWizard, shows the man using a mallet to remove tiles before attempting to open the safe.

After drilling the hinges and lock, he used a chain and kettlebell to pull the safe out. Finally, with a saw, he managed to pry the door open. Inside, he found wads of cash, a new iPhone in its box, and several old pennies.

The TikTok user commented: 'Finding old coins like this in a safe can mean you hit the jackpot. There are so many pennies from around the world that are rare and valuable. So make sure you check them for key dates.'

Generally, if you find a locked safe in a new home, it is legally yours, though it is advisable to check with previous owners or authorities. The safest approach is to hire a certified safe technician or locksmith, and document the process with photos before attempting to open it.
