Cause of Holborn Fire 'Unknown' as Blaze Continues Under Pavement

Firefighters are still unsure what caused an electrical fire that forced the closure of a road in central London. The blaze is continuing to burn under the pavement, with more than 35 firefighters and six fire engines still at the scene in Holborn.

About 5,000 people were evacuated from nearby buildings after smoke was seen coming out of an inspection cover in Kingsway on Wednesday. London Fire Brigade said the fire has been contained in the tunnel but it had been 'difficult' to tackle.

BBC London's Marc Ashdown spoke to London Fire Brigade's Spencer Sutcliff and local accountant Mark Boomla about the ongoing incident.
