Mozley criticises the government for attempting to address too many issues at once, urging it to stop meddling with the private market. Instead, she advocates for a rapid programme of social housing construction, enabling families to raise children in secure rented homes. She believes that visual evidence of new housing would be more effective than any number of promises regarding GP appointments, school meals, or nurseries.
Separately, Ken Guy of Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, calls for more open debate within the Labour Party. He references Alan Finlayson's suggestion that Labour MPs with differing views should engage in lengthy discussions on platforms like YouTube, harking back to the confrontations between Roy Jenkins and Tony Benn in 1975. Guy argues that such debates would encourage audiences to think independently and present an image of a party beyond dry managerialism.
