Katie Price's former home, the Mucky Mansion in West Sussex, has been sold to furniture tycoon James Mercer, 62, for a price believed to be under the £1.35 million listing. The property, purchased by Price in 2014 for £2 million, was repossessed after she failed to keep up with mortgage payments.
Mercer, a divorced father of two from Northern Ireland, bought the house in January 2025, months after Price was evicted by bailiffs. His partner, Leike Qu, said the couple fell in love with the country house and plan extensive renovations. They have set aside a significant sum for repairs, including fixing the kitchen ceiling and clearing the green swimming pool.
Price, 47, will not receive any proceeds from the sale, as the money will go towards her debts. She had previously described the nine-bedroom property as 'cursed', citing break-ins, alleged ghost sightings, and the deaths of her pets. She warned new owners of bad luck, but Mercer and Qu remain undeterred.
The property, located near Horsham, features three reception rooms, four bathrooms, a one-bedroom annexe, and private stables. Professional cleaners removed large amounts of rubbish before it was marketed by estate agents HJ Burt. Price's daughter, Princess Andre, also shared negative memories of living there, calling it 'a really scary house'.
