A pair of urban explorers have uncovered an abandoned farmhouse between Bolton and Wigan, which they describe as the most untouched location they have ever encountered. The property, believed to date back to 1901, is filled with personal belongings left undisturbed for decades.
Alex Hilton and Daniel Walker, who document their finds on the DNA Explores Facebook page, photographed items including a bicycle in the hallway, a suit jacket hanging in a wardrobe, and a 50-year-old tin of treacle on a kitchen shelf. An old stove still had a pan on the hob, and bottles and tins gathered dust on shelves.
Alex, a plumber and heating engineer, said: 'It's the most untouched place I have ever found in 15 years of doing this. Everything seems to be exactly where they left it. You can put yourself in their shoes.' He noted that the bike was made by Bentley and had an oil lamp front light.
The explorers found old engineering magazines, a piano lesson flyer, and ancient-looking appliances. Despite the eerie atmosphere, Alex felt a sense of sadness, noting cards on the walls suggesting a widow had lived there alone after her husband's death. He admitted feeling creeped out and hearing noises, prompting them to leave.
The pair have chosen not to reveal the exact location to protect the property from vandals. They ensure all buildings are safe before entering.
